In my devotion I was reading James 1:19-20. It says that everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry. My Dad always told me that I couldn’t learn anything by running my mouth. I can only learn when I listen because when I talk I am only saying what I already know.
God’s Word never ceases to amaze me. It has so much practical advice in it. If people would just read the Word of God and do what it says, then their lives would go so much smoother. The Bible teaches us how to act. It teaches us how to be a better person.
I actually do try to listen more than I talk, however my problem is that sometimes I am not slow to anger. I fail at that point. I let things aggravate me when I shoudn’t. Hey, I’m not perfect, but I’m working on me and that is the most important thing. How about you? Have you arrived or do you still have a few things you need to work on?
